Rising Texas Country Artist Cory Morrow Gears Up For A Collaboration With Country Music Veteran Radney Foster
Boasting sales of over 180,000 albums sold over six independent releases and national media recognition for his appearance with former college pal Pat Green on the televised series Austin City Limits, Texas music favorite Cory Morrow is currently gearing up for his next project: a collaboration with Texas music veteran Radney Foster.
Foster will not only be serving up his producing skills on several new sides for a rumored fourth studio album, but also his legendary songwriting skills that brought him fame in the 1980's and 90's as one half of the duo Foster and Lloyd who recorded three groundbreaking albums for RCA and became one of the first acts to be played simultaneously on Country and College radio. Known for hits "Nobody Wins" and "Just Call Me Lonesome," Foster's most recent efforts have put him smack dab in the middle of the rising Texas music movement, earning him the number one song of 2001 on the Texas Music Chart, "Texas In 1880" (with special guest Pat Green). Morrow and Foster currently have co-writing sessions lined up with the plans to generate new material for Morrow's forthcoming recording session. The collaboration with Foster is a new and much anticipated direction for Morrow's music and, with the help of some recent major-label interest, will likely launch him into the national country music spotlight in no time.
About Cory Morrow: Bred from the musical heritage of Willy Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker and Robert Earl Keen, Dallas-born Cory Morrow found his place on the front lines of the Texas music scene in 1993 and has since sold over 180,000 records independently, released six albums, garnered acclaim from country music's toughest critics and amassed a base of rabid country music fans that stretches from the dance halls in Texas to the rock clubs in North Carolina. A darling of the southwestern touring circuit, Morrow has seen his presence in the country music scene grow exponentially since the 2002 release of the studio album Outside The Lines. His current album, titled Full Exposure LIVE (Released 2003) consists of a live audio album capturing Cory's July 2002 concert at Austin's Waterloo Park. The first Texas artist to do so, the package contains a two-hour DVD visually capturing the Austin concert as well as behind-the-scenes footage for fans.
The album contains live versions of Cory's hits (like "Love Me Like You Used To Do," which lodged at #1 on the Texas Music Chart for a month last year), plus a duet with Pat Green ("Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?").
